What can USTA Eastern do for you?
Schools and After School Providers that become USTA Organizational Members and commit to a comprehensive tennis program qualify for various benefits. In-school/Physical Education (PE) tennis programs receive:
Below is a list of USTA Organizational Membership options and related benefits available to schools in the Eastern Section.
All schools that participate in the USTA School Tennis Program in the Eastern Section must
become a USTA Organizational Member, and they must commit to offering QuickStart Tennis (QST) as a part of their Physical Education curriculum. In addition (for Levels Two and Three), they need to conduct a QST Tournament at the conclusion of their PE tennis unit, and we recommend they conduct an after school tennis program or demonstrate a clear link to an extracurricular program offered by another organization in the area (CTA, Community Based Organization, Club, Park and Recreation Department, etc.), particularly a QST or USTA Jr. Team Tennis program. In the latter instance, the school, with assistance from USTA Eastern Staff/Clinicians when possible, needs to provide information to students on the extracurricular program, including dates, times, registration details, etc.
Level One -- 1-year USTA Organizational Membership ($35):
- One copy of the USTA School Tennis Curriculum Kit that includes an Instructional DVD, a CD with Station Signs and a Teacher’s Handbook, along with the Tennis Curriculum and Tennis Pocket Guide.
- The ability to apply for grants at the Regional, Sectional, and/or National levels.
- Technical expertise from USTA Eastern Staff.
Level Two -- 3-year USTA Organizational Membership ($100):
- Participation in a 3-hour, interactive USTA School Tennis Teacher In-service.
- One copy of the USTA School Tennis Curriculum Kit that includes an Instructional DVD, a CD with Station Signs and a Teacher’s Handbook, along with the Tennis Curriculum and Tennis Pocket Guide.
- The ability to apply for grants at the Regional, Sectional, and/or National levels.
- Technical expertise from USTA Eastern Staff.
- An equipment package (based on availability) for the school that consists of racquets, balls, a portable net, and an equipment bag. Equipment order is customized to the school with age-appropriate racquet sizes, low-compression and/or foam balls, an 18’ portable net, and an equipment carry bag.
Level Three -- 5-year USTA Organizational Membership ($155):
- Participation in a 3-hour, interactive USTA School Tennis Teacher In-service.
- One copy of the USTA School Tennis Curriculum Kit that includes an Instructional DVD, a CD with Station Signs and a Teacher’s Handbook, along with the Tennis Curriculum and Tennis Pocket Guide.
- The ability to apply for grants at the Regional, Sectional, and/or National levels.
- Technical expertise from USTA Eastern Staff and Clinicians.
- The opportunity to host a School Tennis Assembly.
- Clinician support for PE tennis unit and QST Tournament.
- An equipment package (based on availability) for the school that consists of racquets, balls, a portable net, and an equipment bag. Equipment order is customized to the school with age-appropriate racquet sizes, low-compression and/or foam balls, an 18’ portable net, and an equipment carry bag.
