USTA Eastern publishes both Standings lists and Rankings lists for the Eastern Section as a whole, and the Regions that comprise the Eastern Section: New Jersey, Long Island, Metro, Northern, Southern and Western.
The Standings Lists are published each month, they reflect a player’s best six tournaments plus 15% of their doubles results over the last 12 months of competitive play. Standings do not reset on January 1st. The Rankings Lists are published annually and reflect a player’s best six tournaments plus 15% of their doubles results for the calendar year in a given age division.
- To obtain a Sectional (Eastern) Standing players must win at least one match in a USTA sanctioned tournament not including walkovers, withdrawals, or defaults.
- To obtain a Sectional (Eastern) Ranking calculated only at the end of the year, a player a player must have played at least 4 Level 1 (L1), Level 1B (L1B), and/or +L1 Eastern tournaments with at least one win not including walkovers, withdrawals, or defaults, and have earned at least 100 ranking points.
- To obtain a Regional Standing (NJ, Long Island, Metro, Northern, Southern, Western) players must win at least one match in an USTA Eastern L2 tournament.
- To obtain a Regional Ranking (NJ, Long Island, Metro, Northern, Southern, Western) a player must play a combination of 3 or 4 (depending on the region) L2R or L2O level tournaments with at least one win. (3: Northern, Western, & Metro; 4: NJ, Long Island and Southern)
