Cornell University took center stage last weekend, February 21-22, at Eastern’s Tennis on Campus Section Championships. Nine teams flocked to Syracuse NY to battle it out on the courts for a chance to advance to the National Championships next month in Surprise, Arizona. Tennis on Campus is a co-ed program offering those college students who chose not to play varsity the opportunity to compete as a team.
The final showdown came between Cornell University’s A and B squads who each won their pools. The B squad was seen as the underdog team, as their name implies.
Yet after impressively beating out teams from Onondaga Community College, Syracuse, Rutgers and Stonybrook Universities, the B squad felt confident entering the championship matches. Read more.
