NY Super Seniors Win Medals in Australia

The U.S. Queens’s Cup team came in second at the 2009 Super-Senior World Team Tennis Championships this month – losing in the final by one match to a tough team from Australia. But Lee Burling of Oswego, NY, and her doubles partner, Mary Boswell of Damascus, MD, upset the number one seeds in their match, becoming the 75 Women's Individual Doubles Champions.

A non-profit organization in Syracuse will be developing a wheelchair tennis program with the help of a new $1,000 grant from the Eastern Adult Tennis Foundation. Move Along Inc., which provides adaptive recreation to people with disabilities, was one of 11 organizations throughout New York and New Jersey that were presented grants by Patrick McEnroe at the foundation’s annual luncheon.

Pleasantville Tennis Club to Host Men's Westchester Championships

The Pleasantville Tennis Club will conduct its 2nd annual USTA Eastern sanctioned men’s tournament, the Men’s Westchester Championships, in mid September. First-round play will begin Wednesday afternoon, September 16, with the finals played Sunday, the 20th.
